Scope
This document specifies the basic types, technical requirements, inspection and test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, storage and transportation of compressed natural gas cylinder valves for vehicles. This document is applicable to the compressed natural gas cylinder valves for vehicles (hereinafter referred to as valves) whose working environment temperature is -40 ℃ ~ +85 ℃ and whose nominal working pressure is not more than 25 MPa.

5.4.1 Core performance of valve body

  • Air tightness test: Add test in the full temperature range of -40℃~85℃, leakage rate <20cm3/h
  • Durability: 1920 opening and closing tests at normal temperature + 80 extreme temperature cycle tests
  • Surface liquid resistance: Add requirements for resistance to corrosive liquids such as sulfuric acid solution and E10 fuel

5.4.2 Safety pressure relief device

Typical application case: The bursting disc-fusible alloy plug composite device must pass the following tests:

  1. 500h accelerated life test (TL=420/(12.88×Tf^0.3))
  2. 2000 high temperature (85℃) pressure cycles
  3. Flow rate deviation ≤10% (0.8-0.9MPa working condition)

Material and process innovation

5.2.1 Metal material

HPb59-1 lead brass is the preferred material for the valve body, and the mechanical properties must meet the following requirements:

  • Tensile strength ≥340MPa
  • Elongation ≥18%
  • Cu content 57.0-60.0%

5.2.2 Non-metallic seals

Three new key tests:

  1. 70℃/96h oxygen aging test (no cracks)
  2. 50ppm ozone concentration 72h exposure
  3. Volume change rate after n-pentane immersion ≤20%
