Scope
The electromagnetic interference (EMC) immunity requirements of this document apply to the following electrical and electronic equipment used in industrial locations, within the frequency range of 0 Hz to 400 GHz. No tests are required at frequencies where no immunity requirements are specified. If there is no relevant specific EM C immunity standard for a product or product category, this general EM C immunity standard applies. This document applies to electrical and electronic equipment operating in industrial locations (as defined in 3.7), including indoor and outdoor locations. This document also applies to equipment directly connected to a direct current (DC) power distribution network or powered by a battery and used in industrial locations. This document specifies immunity tests related to continuous and transient, conducted and radiated disturbances and electrostatic discharge for equipment within the scope of application. The immunity requirements of this document are selected to ensure that equipment operating in industrial locations has an appropriate immunity level. However, the tests recommended in this document do not cover all interference phenomena, only those related to the equipment covered by this document are considered. These test requirements represent basic EMC immunity requirements. This document specifies test requirements for each half considered. NOTE 1: For information on other disturbance phenomena, see IEC/VTR61000-4-1. NOTE 2: This document does not include safety considerations. NOTE 3: In some special cases, interference levels exceeding the test levels specified in this document may occur. For example, equipment installed near industrial, scientific and medical equipment specified in CISPR11 or using handheld transmitters near equipment. In these cases, special mitigation measures may be required. Industrial environments can be modified by special mitigation measures. After these measures, if an electromagnetic environment equivalent to that of a residential, commercial and light industrial environment can be obtained, the general standards or relevant product standards related to this environment can be used.
Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 17799.2-2023 "Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) General Standard Part 2: Immunity Standard for Industrial Environments" is a standard formulated for the immunity test requirements of electrical and electronic equipment used in industrial sites. This standard replaces the old version GB/T 17799.2-2003, and mainly revises the term definitions, test methods and measurement uncertainty.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard version Main changes Scope of application
GB/T 17799.2-2003 - Adjustment of environmental description- Added long-distance line terms- Deleted the immunity test requirements for functional grounding ports Equipment immunity test in industrial environments
GB/T 17799.2-2023 - Increased measurement uncertainty requirements- Adjusted the frequency range of RF electromagnetic field radiation immunity test- Modified surge and electrical fast transient pulse group immunity test parameters Electrical and electronic equipment operating in industrial sites

3. Recommendations for standard implementation

Key implementation steps:

  1. Determine the scope of application:Select the appropriate test method according to the type of equipment and the working environment.
  2. Measurement uncertainty assessment:Carry out measurement error analysis in accordance with IEC 61000-1-6 or related basic standards.
  3. Performance criterion selection:Select A, B or C criteria according to the equipment function and manufacturer requirements.

4. Explanation of professional terms

Port:
The specific interface where the equipment couples with the external electromagnetic environment, including physical boundaries and signal/control ports.
Long Distance Line:
Lines with a length of more than 30 meters or leading outside the building, mainly used in DC distribution networks.

5. Technology Evolution Analysis

GB/T 17799.2-2023 is modified based on IEC 61000-6-2:2016. The main technical changes include:

  • Increase voltage sag and interruption test requirements
  • Modify the frequency range of RF electromagnetic field radiation immunity test
  • Delete 60Hz power frequency parameter indicators
