Scope
This document describes methods for image quality evaluation of xerographic copies. This document is applicable to the evaluation of print image quality of black and white electrostatic copiers (including multi-function machines), and also applies to the evaluation of print image quality related to consumable materials (such as photoconductor drums, toner, etc.). The print image quality evaluation of other types of copying equipment can be carried out by reference.

Density measurement case

According to the requirements of Clause 7.6, when using a reflection densitometer to measure the three φ6 solid circles below the Temple of Heaven pattern, you should:

  1. Preheat the instrument for 15 minutes
  2. Set absolute density mode
  3. Put 5 sheets of copy paper from the same batch under the sample
  4. Take the average of the three-point measurements

Typical fault: When the measured value difference is greater than 0.1D, it is necessary to check the toner distribution uniformity or the photoconductor drum aging.
