- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, hygienic requirements, verification of hygienic requirements, and use information of feed processing machinery. This standard applies to feed processing machinery for the production of additive premixed feed, concentrated feed, compound feed and concentrate supplements, including stand-alone equipment and complete processing equipment (hereinafter referred to as "equipment").

Analysis of the core requirements of the standard
GB40162-2021 is the first mandatory national standard in the field of feed machinery hygiene in my country. It puts forward systematic hygiene requirements for key equipment such as mixers and grinders. For the first time, the standard clearly defines 23 professional terms such as product contact surfaces and dead corners, and integrates hygiene risk control throughout the entire life cycle of the equipment.

Principles for material selection
Standard 4.1.2 stipulates that dynamic contact parts such as mixer blades must be made of 06Cr19Ni10 stainless steel; silo observation windows should be made of food-grade plastics such as polycarbonate. Special case: A company used ordinary rubber seals, which caused a vitamin B2 degradation accident.
Key points of structural optimization

- Bearings must be external or triple sealed (Figure A.1)

Implementation suggestions and common problems
Cross-contamination prevention and control plan
According to the requirements of Article 4.1.4.1.1 of the standard for ruminant feed production line, it is recommended that:
- Physical isolation: set up an independent plant or isolation wall
- Air lock device: install negative pressure dust removal at the feeding port
- Color management: special identification for tools and equipment
Verification method optimization
The fluorescent labeling method recommended in Chapter 5 of the standard should be noted in actual application:
- The equipment needs to be thoroughly cleaned before testing
- The marker should be an edible tracer
- UV testing needs to be carried out in a darkroom
Standard evolution and industry impact
Compared with EU Regulation (EC) No 183/2005, this standard has stricter requirements in terms of corrosion-resistant materials (4.1.2.1.4) and residual rate (4.6). After implementation, about 15% of obsolete production capacity will be eliminated, and the application of new technologies such as self-cleaning mixers will be promoted.
